Cuckfield Prepares for the 2008 SeasonFollowing on from last season’s triumphs as the Sussex 20/20 champions and runners up in the Sussex Premier league, Cuckfield Cricket Club, sponsored by Savills, are making preparations to achieve more success in 2008. The 2008 season sees the appointment of Chris Mole as Director of Cricket. He will take charge of cricket matters within the Club, particularly the 1st XI and 2nd XI squads. Both Nick Patterson and Cheg Abraham will again be skippering their respective County League sides this year. Chris, a stalwart of Cuckfield cricket has already proved himself on the field, consistently being the Club’s top league run scorer in the past three seasons. Another triumph took place this winter when Chris completed his UKCC Level 3 coaching certificate, being only one of eleven in the country. This demanding course took place over three modules, including lectures on the latest coaching techniques in all cricket disciplines including psychology, biomechanics and cricket specific IT, addressing a variety of issues such as personal coaching philosophy and risk assessment, as well as video analysis assignments.
As the new season approaches the Club is always looking for new players both men, women and colts to join the friendly family club. All standards of cricket are catered for whether you have aspirations of Premier League cricket through to social Sunday and 20 over evening cricket. This year especially the Club is looking for umpires and scorers to officiate at all levels. Further information and contact numbers can be found on the Club website.
